Says Signs of U.S. Decline Obvious

Leader: Riots Part of Enemy’s Hybrid War

TEHRAN -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday those who think the U.S. is an untouchable power, are wrong.
Addressing a group of Iranian students here, the Leader said the 1979 takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran proved that Washington is completely vulnerable.
“The 13th of Aban (November 4) is a day that manifests the reality that the U.S. is completely vulnerable. This day is both a manifestation of the evil of the U.S. and a manifestation of its being struck and defeated. The 13th of Aban is a historic day to study and learn from these experiences,” he said.
The Leader noted that the history of confrontation between Iran and the U.S. dates back to the CIA-orchestrated coup in Iran in 1953. But now, the American politicians are hypocritically and shamelessly claiming that they are supporters of the Iranian people.
“In its propaganda, the U.S. says the overtaking of the Spy Den (U.S. embassy) was the start of the conflict between the Iranian nation and the U.S. They lie. The conflicts between Iran and the U.S. started with the 1953 coup. Why did you overthrow a national government elected by popular vote?
“The U.S. today is the same U.S. of August 19, 1953, but with two key differences. First, the ways it shows its hostility have become more complicated. Second, the U.S. was the dominant power at the time of the 1953 coup. It is not today. The U.S.’s power is diminishing little by little,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the riots of the past few weeks, and said a recent intelligence report showed how the enemies had been planning to instigate chaos across different cities.
“One can see a trace of the U.S. in most of the events that take place against Iran. Then they claim they care about the Iranian nation. You have imposed the most severe sanctions - the like of which they admit have never been imposed on any nation in history - against Iran.”
The Leader called the recent unrest part of the enemy’s “hybrid war” against Iran rather than mere street riots.

“The enemy, namely the United States, the Zionist regime, some insidious and malicious European powers and some groups, came to the field with all of their capabilities,” he said, adding that they used their intelligence agencies, media capacity and the internet as well as their experiences in Iran and other countries to harm the Iranian nation.
On the Shiraz terrorist attack last week, for which Daesh claimed responsibility, the Leader called for tough punishment for the perpetrators of the crime.
“Who are the people who commit these crimes and where do they get their orders from? Of course, these are definitely not our children and youth. The perpetrators of these crimes must be identified and whoever is proven to have participated in these crimes will undoubtedly be punished,” he said.
The Leader also censured the so-called supporters of human rights for their silence after the terrorist attack, saying, “Why have they not condemned the Shiraz incident and why do they repeat a false claim thousands of times on their platforms on the internet?”
Ayatollah Khamenei also said a new world order is being shaped in which the U.S. is isolated and has no important position.
“The signs of the U.S.’s decline are obvious. They have economic, social, and moral problems inside the U.S. There are discords and bloody divisions. These are their domestic problems. And there are their miscalculations in global affairs,” he said.
“A sign of the U.S. decline is the election of people like the current and former presidents. One was a man like [former president Donald] Trump whom the world considered to be crazy. After he was defeated, a man like this current one comes into power, and you know about him,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
The Leader signs of a new world order are emerging around the world, and the youth need to recognize Iran’s role and position in the imminent world order.
“The dimensions and nature of the new order are not exactly known, but its layout can be drawn,” he said, pointing to the decline of the US power in the world as one of the outcomes.
“Unlike in the past, when the Americans considered themselves the only dominant power in the world, the U.S. does not have an important position in the new order and is isolated.”
