Cinema Verite Audience Favor 'Joker’

TEHRAN (IFILM)-- Iran’s "Joker" has topped audience picks at the end of the third day of the 12th edition of Iran's international documentary film festival, the Cinema Verite.
"Joker", directed by Sajjad Imani topped the audience picks, followed by "Where the Wind Blows" (Anja ke bad mi varzad) by Mina Mashhadi-Mehdi which took the second place.
"The Little Owl’s Song" made by Mehdi Nourmohammadi, "In the Realm of the Spider-Taled' by Fathollah Amiri and Armin Isarian’s "Mysteries of the Lake"came in the third, fourth and fifth places respectively.
The Cinema Verite’s audience award will be given to the Iranian documentary that receives the most votes.
Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the first edition of the Cinema Verite was held in 2007.
Over the past decade it has emerged as one of the important events on Iran's documentary film calendar.
The 12th edition of the Cinema Verite kicked off on December 9 and will wrap up on December 16.
