TEHRAN – Leader of the 
Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei here Wednesday stressed the significance of understanding the underlying logic behind the popular slogans “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” that are frequently heard in the country. 
“If these millions of young people know who the friends and enemies are and are vaccinated against the goals of the enemies of the country, the extensive media and political investment of the enemies will be ineffective,” the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with a number of teachers and education officials from across the country on the occasion of the National Teachers Day.
The Leader underlined the importance of educating students, youth, and teenagers about the logic and reasoning behind the policies and actions of the Islamic Republic.
Ayatollah Khamenei said teachers play a key role in shaping the identities of teenagers and the youth, adding every word, behavior, stance, and even gesture of a teacher can have a significant impact on the character development of the new generation.
He also touched on the situation in Gaza, saying the besieged territory is today “the first issue of the world”.  
The Leader said, “No matter how hard the Zionists and their American and European supporters try to shift the world’s public opinion away from Gaza, they are unable to do so.” 
“Just see what is happening in the universities in the U.S. every day. As I read in the news today, several more universities have joined protests. In Australia and various European countries, nations are concerned about the situation in Gaza.”
The Leader emphasized the importance of cranking up public pressure on the occupying regime of Israel. 
“Today, the whole world is seeing the behavior of the Zionist regime; 30,000 people were killed within six months, at least half of them women and children.  This is not a small thing, such cruelty, such brutality, is not a small thing when a rabid dog kills Palestinian children, the sick, the elderly and women. 
“Well, this is one of the things that proved the correctness of the permanent position of the Islamic Republic to the people of the world and why they have been saying “Death to the Zionist regime” in the Islamic Republic for decades.
“It was shown to the whole world that the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation is right, because the Zionist regime showed its evil nature in this great test and the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic was proven,” the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the behavior of the United States and its affiliated entities towards the “peaceful and non-destructive protests”

 of students against the crimes of Israel is further evidence of Iran’s righteousness. 
“Look at what the Americans and their related organizations are doing with the oral opposition to Israel! The students of American universities did not destroy, did not shout slogans of destruction, did not kill anyone, did not set fire to any place, did not break a glass, but this is how they are being treated. 
“This behavior of the Americans also showed the correctness of the position of the Islamic Republic in cynicism towards America, that is to say it backed up the “death to America” chant that you express.
“It showed everyone that America is an accomplice. They may say a word once in a while, such as compassion and the like, but it is a lie, it is contrary to reality. What one observes in practice shows America’s complicity in this great crime, in this unforgivable sin with the Zionist regime.
“They are accomplices. How can one be optimistic about such a system, such a regime and trust its words? How is it possible?” Ayatollah Khamenei said. 
The Leader said, “Palestine must return to its people and after the formation of the Palestinian system of governance, they should be the ones to decide whether to expel the Zionists or allow them to stay.”
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on efforts being made to normalize relations between the Zionist regime and the countries in the region. 
He said even if relations are normalized between the Zionist regime and the surrounding Arab countries, the underlying problem will not be solved. 
“Instead, the focus will shift towards governments that have ignored the regime’s crimes by befriending it, leading to opposition from the nations against those governments,” the Leader said.
