Gunmen Kidnap French Woman in Yemeni Capital

SANAA (Dispatches) – France says a female French citizen working for an international organization in Yemen has been abducted in the capital, Sana’a.

According to a statement issued by the French Foreign Ministry, the abduction took place on Tuesday.
France is doing all in its power to find and free the woman, the ministry said, calling on all French "compatriots to leave the country as fast as possible.”
The woman along with her translator are said to have been abducted by unknown gunmen while in a taxi.
Checkpoints in and around Sana’a have been informed of the incident to help locate the kidnappers’ vehicles.
French President Francois Hollande, meanwhile, called for the release of the woman, whose name has not been published, "as soon as possible.”
