Kowsar Not Comparable to F-5: Commander
TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Deputy commander of the Army Brigadier General Muhammad Hussein Dadras said Tuesday Iran’s first homemade fighter jet is "much more powerful” than its foreign version.
Dadras rejected claims that Kowsar is a knockdown copy of the F-5, saying it is not comparable to the U.S.-made fighter jet and that the Iranian aircraft more modern and capable. The commander said the mass production of the aircraft will form a basis for the country’s self-sufficiency in meeting its needs for other planes.
