Zionist Minister Cancels Brussels Visit Fearing Arrest

WEST BANK (Dispatches) –
Zionist regime minister Amichai Chikli cancelled a trip to the European Parliament in Brussels this week following legal action against him by pro-Palestinian activists, a rights group said.
The Zionist regime’s prime minister’s office said that Chikli’s trip had been cancelled “due to specific security warnings and based on the recommendation of security agencies”.
Chikli, who is the minister for diaspora affairs, was scheduled to attend an event in Belgium’s capital held at the European Parliament on Wednesday, as well as meet members of the Jewish community in the country.
Though no further reasoning was given for the decision, Chikli said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that “it is unfortunate that the European capital, Brussels, has become an unsafe place for Jews and Israelis”.
According to the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a Belgium-based advocacy and accountability organization, the decision to cancel the visit “has more to do with avoiding justice and legal action.”
“We believe this decision reflects an attempt to evade justice and legal accountability rather than genuine safety considerations,” the group said the group added in a statement shared with Middle East Eye.
“This development underscores the importance of continuing to hold all Israeli war criminals - perpetrators, inciters, and accomplices - accountable for their actions and ensuring that impunity is not tolerated.”
The chairman of the group, Lebanese political activist Dyab Abou Jahjah, was previously threatened by Chikli, with the Israeli minister seemingly threatening Jahjah in a post on X: “Hello to our human rights activist. Watch your pager.”
The comment referenced the 2024 Israeli pager attacks which rocked Lebanon, as the Zionist regime turned communication devices of Hezbollah into bombs, leaving dozens dead and wounding thousands more.
