Iran Beat Qatar 4-1 in 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier

TEHRAN - Iran’s national football team showcased its dominance by defeating Qatar 4-1 in the fourth week of the Group A of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, at Dubai’s Rashid Stadium on Tuesday.
Iran, coming off with two victories against Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with a draw against Uzbekistan, entered the match with momentum. However, it was Qatar who struck first, taking the lead with a 17th-minute goal by Almoez Ali.
The Iranians responded with flair as star forward Sardar Azmoun netted twice—once before halftime in the 42nd minute and again just after the break in the 48th minute—putting Team Melli in control.
Iran’s offensive prowess continued in the second half, with winger Mohammad Mohebi adding two more goals in the 65th and deep into stoppage time at 90+7, securing a convincing victory.
