Four Iranian U17 Wrestlers Reach Final, Semifinal
TEHRAN – In the 2nd five weight categories of 2022 Roma World Championship one of the Iranian athletes reached the final match and three others the semifinal on Tuesday.
In the opening games of the second five weights in 51kg weight Iran’s Muhammad-Reza Gholami reached the final, while Payam Ahmadi in 45kg, Abolfazl Mirshekar in 60kg, and Muhammad-Reza Keshtkar in 92kg weights reached the semifinal matches.
Ahmadi lost the march to his Ukrainian competitor Yohen Pokova 9-7 and reached the semifinal.
In 51kg weight Muhammad Gholami gained a rest lot for the first match and beat his rival from Kazakhstan, Roan Bakimov 8-7 to reach the quarter-final match.
In quarterfinal of 51kg, he beat Brick Manish from India 11-1 to reach the semi-final and in that match be beat Turkey’s champion Ali Sumbul 6-nil to reach the final match.
In 60kg weight match Abolfazl Mirshekar in the first match beat Hubert Visokzanski from Poland and in is second match he beat Avtandil Mamalatdze from Georgia to reach the quarter-final match.
In the quarter-final Mirshekar also beat 8-0 Mukul Chahan from India to reach the semifinal. But he lost the quarter-final 5-1 to his Armenian competitor to reach the semi-final and not the final match.
