Since the debacle in Damascus that saw the sudden exit of President Bashar al-Assad to end of the 54-year administration of the Alawite clan which had turned Syria into a regional power after over four decades of frequent falls of regimes (many lasting only a few months), political observers have come up with mostly wide off the mark analyses.

Influenced by the western mindset, almost all seem elated at the collapse of an important member of the Axis of Resistance against expansionism of usurper Israel, US hegemony in West Asia, and the slavish attitude of Arab reactionary regimes in meekly serving American-Zionist interests.

These so-called experts who are obviously blind to many realities are either overjoyed at what they think to be a blow to the policies of the Islamic Republic or are criticising Iran as part of their wrong perception that Tehran erred and lost billions by its principled support for the interests of the Syrian nation.

Irrespective of the ignorance of the fickle-minded to recall Syria’s firm support for the Iranian people during the 8-year war imposed in the 1980s by the US through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime of Baghdad, they fail to realize that the main beneficiary of the change of government in Damascus is the illegitimate Zionist entity.

The Israeli army is already at the gates of the Syrian capital and with US blessing is intensely bombing military and industrial sites as the coup leaders and their militias indifferently watch the destruction of their country.

This means the mistaken euphoria amongst some sections of the Syrian people will soon evaporate, and their dancing and singing in the streets will turn to despair at the horror of hegemony of the avowed enemies of the Arabs and all Muslim people.

In view of these undeniable facts, an accurate analysis presented by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in his speech to a large gathering in Tehran on Wednesday that the US-Israeli plot backed by a certain neighbouring country confirms the point:

“Ultimately, the coup leaders will be evicted from Syria by the zealous Syrian youth, so will the Americans, since each of these attackers has their own agenda and their goals are different.”

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also noted that contrary to the opinion of the so-called analysts, the Islamic Republic is unscathed by turn of events in Syria:

“The resistance front is not a piece of hardware that breaks or collapses or is destroyed. Resistance is a faith; it is a thought; it is a heartfelt and definite decision. Resistance is a school; it is a school of belief. What is the faith of a group of people does not become weak but becomes stronger with pressure.”

“This is what the resistance is. This is what the resistance front is. The more you push, the stronger it becomes; the more you commit crimes, the more motivated it becomes. The more you fight with them, the more widespread it will be, and I tell you, by the Divine Power, the domain of resistance will cover the entire region more than before.”
