NGOs Warn of ‘Zionist Penetration’ in Morocco Institutes, Universities

RABAT (MEMO) – Moroccan NGOs have warned of the “Zionist penetration” in institutes and universities in the country, noting it “poses danger on the future of the country.”
In a letter sent to the National Syndicate for High Education, the National Working Group for Palestine and the Moroccan Observatory Against Normalization highlighted the issue of the “Zionist penetration” of the Moroccan institutions and universities.
The two NGOs stressed on the importance of facing off this penetration and mobilizing the Moroccan people against the “crime” of normalizing ties with the Zionist regime.
According to the letter, the NGOs documented “several cases of infiltrations of the covered and uncovered Zionist intelligence services into the campuses.”
These include “alleged scientific and research activities organized by officers and commanders of the Zionist army under misleading titles in the Moroccan universities.”
The letter stressed the danger that these activities, whose organizers remain anonymous, will have on the future of Moroccan universities and research.
Head of the Moroccan Observatory Against Normalization, Ahmed Wehman, said the “Zionist penetration of the Moroccan universities is targeting the country’s elite, as well as reinforcing the Zionist control over Morocco and its abilities.”
Morocco re-established ties with the occupying regime at the end of 2020 in return for the U.S.’ recognition of its sovereignty over the Western Sahara.
