TEHRAN – A contractor at the Resalat Oil Field from the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) says oil production from the field would increase with the installation of a new drilling rig in the vicinity of the DP-R1 platform in the oilfield, which is located in the Lavan region in the Persian Gulf.
Pouya Maarefi said that a first phase of the development project at Resalat oilfield will include the construction of a new platform, cable and pipe laying operations, as well as repair works and upgrade on an existing platform.
Maarefi added that the project would lead to an increase in oil production from the field by 11,000 barrels per day.
He said the construction of a new platform for Resalat oilfield had started in March 2023 in Khorramshahr, in southwest Iran.
