TEHRAN -- The short film ‘Knife, Chocolate’ directed by Hooshmand Varai has won the ‘Exceptional Merit’ award at WRPN Women’s International Film Festival, said head of Iranian Youth Cinema Society of Kermanshah Province Kamran Rezaie.
The festival, about female filmmakers or films with women’s concerns, is held in Delaware.
Rezaie said the movie narrates the story of the end of an abnormal family and is against gender discrimination.
Varai had earlier received an honorary diploma from an experimental short film in Iran as well as awards from Italy, Saint Petersburg, Russia; Belgrade, Serbia; Zurich, Switzerland; Istanbul, Turkey; Nairobi, Kenya; and Mumbai festivals.
