TEHRAN (IMNA) - Theme parks are examples of entertaining, highly concentrated, and user-oriented environments, Isfahan’s deputy mayor for architecture and urban planning Vahid Mahdavian said, “the development of theme parks in Isfahan is a solution to make the city more livable.”
Mahdavian, in a training workshop centered on the theoretical and practical basics of theme parks in Isfahan, considered amusement parks as one of the paramount concerns of urban planning affairs and said, “ according to the definition of International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), amusement parks are location-based entertainment environments that include themed attractions like foods, retail stores, rides and games, and family leisure. Such parks are created and managed for enjoyment, entertainment, and educational purposes. “
Noting that amusement parks include educational, historical, miniature, natural and science and technology themes, Isfahan’s deputy mayor for architecture and urban planning said, “ Based on the number of visitors and amount of investment, these parks are organized into large, regional, medium and small theme parks, considering their functional purpose and degree of independence of the space, they are categorized into amusement, educational and fantasy parks, characterizing by their forms, parks are classified into playgrounds, amusement parks and theme parks, and they are categorized into physical, psychological and social development parks in terms of children’s growth and development. “
