Palestinian Dies From Wounds After Clashes With Zionist Troops

RAMALLAH (Dispatches) – A Palestinian man succumbed to the wounds sustained from Zionist troops’ gunfire in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, near the West Bank city of Salfit, Palestinian medics said on Sunday.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that Mujahid Dawoud, 30, from the village, succumbed to critical wounds early on Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon, five Palestinians were injured during clashes with Zionist troops in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, including Dawoud, who suffered severe wounds in the chest.
Mohammed al-Ramahi, director of Salfit Hospital in the northern West Bank, said that Dawoud and another Palestinian were receiving intensive medical care after being critically wounded by Zionist troops.
Tensions have been running high across the occupied Palestinian territories during the past months.
On Friday, Zionist troops shot and killed two Palestinian men, including a physician, during a raid on the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the doctor as Abdullah al-Ahmad, and said he was shot in the head by Zionist forces in front of the Jenin public hospital. The second man killed was 20-year-old Mateen Dabaya. He was also shot with a bullet to the head.
Zionist troops have recently been conducting raids and killings in the northern occupied West Bank, mainly in the cities of Jenin and Nablus, where new groups of Palestinian resistance fighters have been formed.
At least 171 Palestinians have been killed by the Zionist troops in the occupied territories since the start of the year, including 51 in the besieged Gaza Strip during the regime’s three-day onslaught in August.
In a new act of provocation, a group of extremist Zionist settlers have attacked a school at a village near the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, setting ablaze a classroom.
Palestine’s Wafa news agency, citing local sources, reported on Sunday that the raid by the settlers took place at the village of Urif, south of Nablus in the middle of the night.
Ghassan Daghlas, a local Palestinian activist, said settlers from the nearby notorious settlement of Yitzhar entered the village and shattered some of the school’s windows, as they vandalized the equipment there.
The Palestinian resistance group Lion’s Den (TLD) has called on Palestinians living across the occupied West Bank to ramp up the struggle against the Tel Aviv regime, and directly engage with Zionist military forces as well as extremist settlers.
“Don’t worry. By God’s grace, the Lion’s Den fighters are standing on your side and fighting alongside you. Surround Zionists so they would not have a chance of escape,” the resistance group said in a statement as it addressed Palestinians from all strata of society.
It also urged Palestinians, who are living in neighborhoods close to illegal settlements, to block roads for Zionist settlers and troops and actively target them.
The Lion’s Den earlier announced that its members had carried out five retaliatory operations against the occupying regime’s targets across the West Bank.
Meanwhile, the Joint Operations Room (JOR) – a grouping of Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip that operate as a quasi-army against the Zionist regime, also expressed its full support for the Lions’ Den, the Jenin Brigade, the Nablus Brigade, the Tulkarm Brigade, and all other resistance groups fighting against the occupying Israeli regime.
