President Raisi Holds Talks With Tunisian, Qatari Leaders

TEHRAN – President Ebrahim Raisi has expressed Iran’s readiness to cooperate with Tunisia on various issues of the Muslim world, including efforts to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people.
In a telephone conversation with his Tunisian counterpart President Kais Saied on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, President Raisi said, “Iran considers the success and progress of the dear Tunisian nation as its own progress and success.”
“I hope that with the blessings of this great holiday, we will see the mercy and blessings of God for the two nations and the Islamic community, and we are ready to expand and strengthen cooperation and relations with the brotherly and Muslim country of Tunisia,” the Iranian president added, according to his website.
“We are ready to cooperate in various issues of the world of Islam, including defending the rights of the Palestinian nation.”
For his part, President Saied said, “Iran and Tunisia have had good historical relations based on cultural and civilizational common grounds, and I appreciate your efforts to improve and strengthen cooperation and interactions between the two countries.”
Separately, the emir of Qatar expressed satisfaction with the promotion of his country’s relations with Iran and the implementation of bilateral agreements.
In a telephone conversation, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated the Iranian government and the people and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
President Raisi touched on numerous and intensive diplomatic consultations and meetings between officials of the two countries in recent months.
“These meetings and consultations have a positive effect on the process of implementing the agreements between the two countries,” he said.
In May, Raisi described capacities available in Tehran and Doha as a suitable ground for meeting regional challenges.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has proved its friendship to friends and brothers in difficult times, including Qatar,” he said.
