‘Atabai’ Hits Silverscreens in Iraq
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- ‘Atabai’ Goes to Iraqi Movie theaters in Iraq’s semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan have been set to screen Iranian film ‘Atabai’.
‘Atabai’, produced and directed by well-known Iranian actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi, will be screened at cinemas in the cities of Sulaymaniyah, Erbil and Duhok in Kurdistan starting from Thursday.
The film is about Kazem Atabai, a 40-year-old man who lives with his father and niece in a village called Pirkandi.
‘Atabai’ is starring Javad Ezzati, Sahar Dolatshahi, and Hadi Hejazifar.
The film previously took part in several international festivals, including the Fajr Film Festival in Iran, the Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, and the Cambridge Film Festival in the UK.
‘Atabai’ was also awarded at the 14th Celebration of Iranian Cinema Critics and Screenwriters.
