IRGC Dismantles Terrorist Cell in Western Province

TEHRAN -- Iran’s Islamic
Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has dismantled a terrorist network in the country’s western province of Kordestan, identifying and arresting all its members.
Members of the cell who took orders from abroad and had a history of terrorist acts and assassinations in the province, were arrested prior to the International Quds Day on Friday, Fars news agency reported.
The terror outfit was involved in spreading anti-Islam propaganda and portraying a negative image from Iran under the direction of foreign intelligence services, it said.
“Gathering information on labor unions, inciting rallies in front of governorates, trying to provoke clashes and riots, documenting protests, spreading false news about the killing or suicide of Kurdish women, and insulting religious sanctities have been the core activities of the group,” Fars news agency said.
The report said the group, affiliated to the notorious Komala terror outfit, aimed to disrupt Quds Day rallies and Labor Day ceremonies.
In October last year, the IRGC said its forces had wiped out a

terrorist outfit in the northwestern city of Sardasht, which is close to the Iraqi border.
Two terrorist outfits were disbanded a month earlier in separate operations in Iran’s northwestern areas, during which two terrorists were killed, two others injured, and dozens arrested.
Back in July, Iran’s security forces disbanded a takfiri terrorist group that sought to carry out simultaneous terrorist attacks in several provinces in cooperation with intelligence services of two European and regional countries.
