TEHRAN – Iranian men’s weightlifting team has been crowned champion at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Qatar after romping home with 727 points at the prestigious continental tournament.
The Iranian squad ended on the podium with 727 points followed by the Uzbek team, which gained 684 points to be declared runner-up. Saudi Arabia garnered 594 points and came in third.
In Women category, Iran’s weightlifters ranked fourth with 577 points. Kazakhstan claimed the championship,   Chinses Taipe secured the second place with 586 points,  India  finished third with 584 point. 
2024 Asian Youth & Junior Championships held in Doha, Qatar from Dec. 19 to 25.
