Air Force Commander Meets Pakistan’s Army Chief
ISLAMABAD (IRNA) -- The commander of Iran’s Air Force on Wednesday met with his Pakistan’s army chief here to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi met General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the army headquarters in Rawalpindi, on the fourth day of his official visit to Pakistan.
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Muhammad Ali Husseini, Iranian defense attaché Colonel Mostafa Qanbarpour and Pakistan army officials attended the meeting.
General Vahedi and Bajwa discussed the latest developments related to bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, in particular ties between the armed forces of the two countries.
Referring to his meetings with Pakistani officials over the past three days, Vahedi stressed the importance of strengthening defense and military cooperation between Iran and Pakistan as two influential countries in the region and the Islamic world.
After the meeting the Iranian delegation left for the city of Risalpur to visit the Pakistan Air Force Academy.
Iran’s air force is engaged in student exchange programs with the Pakistan Air Force Officers College and some Iranian students are currently being trained at Pakistan Air Force Academy.
