Hamas Says Won’t Hesitate to Respond to Any Zionist Aggression

GAZA STRIP (Dispatches) –
Palestinian Hamas resistance movement says that it will not hesitate to respond to any Zionist aggression on Palestinians.
In a statement issued on Sunday to mark the 9th anniversary of the 2012 Zionist offensive on Gaza, Hamas called for all the Palestinian people and resistance factions across all Palestinian territories to widen the scale of resistance and diversify the tools used against the occupation in order to deter it.
It reiterated that it “is ready to respond to any Israeli aggression on the Palestinians, their property and their holy sites whatever the price and sacrifices are.”
“All Israeli attempts to end the Palestinian resistance through blockading Gaza and attacking its residents have failed.” The Palestinian resistance “has accumulated its military power and is ready to defend Palestinian rights, Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque,” the statement added.
It called on Arab and Muslim nations to “move from supporting Palestine to involvement in the resistance because the Zionist enemy is not only a threat to Palestine, but to the whole region.”
Meanwhile, the resistance movement demanded immediate intervention to save the lives of five Palestinian prisoners in the occupying regime’s jails who launched hunger strikes to protest against their continued so-called administrative detention.
Hamas spokesman, Abdul Latif al-Qanou, said in a statement that Kayed al-Fasfous has been on a hunger strike for 123 days, noting that the detainees’ health has severely deteriorated and “immediate intervention” is required to save his lives.
“This requires forcing the [Zionist] occupation to respond to their demands, and to end their suffering, which is exacerbating day by day.” the statement read.
Hamas reiterated its solidarity and continuous support for the prisoners in the Zionist regime’s prisons until their demands are met.
Five Palestinian prisoners have been on extended hunger strike, they are protesting being held by regime authorities without charge or trial.
The Palestinian detainees are Kayed Al-Fasfous, Alaa al-Araj and Hisham Ismail Abu Hawash whose hunger strikes have continued for 99 days, Ayad al-Harimi who has abstained from food and most liquid for 53 days, and Louay al-Ashkar who joined the protest 35 days ago.
Last week, Palestinian prisoner Miqdad al-Qawasmi agreed to end his hunger strike, which was ongoing for 113 days, after Zionist prison authorities agreed to release him in February.
The occupying regime currently detains some 4,650 Palestinians, including 34 women, 160 children and about 500 ‘administrative detainees’.
