Globally Awarded Actress Asayesh Expresses Appreciation in Video

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian actress Vishka Asayesh has appreciated the jury of Winter Film Awards (WFA) in the U.S. for awarding her performance in ‘The Badger’ film.
She sent a video message to the event, thanking the jury members for honoring her role in the feature film ‘The Badger’ directed by Kazem Mollaee.
The film also grabbed the Indie Pix Award at the 2021 edition of the WFA.
“Right before Soodeh Sharifzadegan’s second marriage, her 11-year-old son, Matiar is kidnapped. After considerable effort, Soodeh is forced to ask for the ransom money from her ex-husband. After Matiar’s release, Soodeh, being curious, comes to the sudden realization that it was all her son’s plan to lay the ground for his father’s return,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Besides Asayesh, Hassan Majouni and Mehraveh Sharifinia star in ‘The Badger’.
It has been screened at more than 40 international films festivals, managing to win some 17 awards.
The WFA shows “films from emerging filmmakers from around the world in all genres, with a special emphasis on highlighting the work of women and under-represented filmmakers”, the website of the event reads.
The 10th edition of the event was held on September 23-October 2.
Born in 1972, Asayesh has a university degree in Scenic Design from London University, the UK.
She became a household name after appearing in the religious, historical TV series ‘Imam Ali (AS)’ in 1992.
She has also appeared in movies and series such as ‘Love + 2’, ‘The Visitor of Rey’, ‘Ice Flower’, ‘No Men Allowed’, ‘Snow on the Pines’, ‘Thirteen’, ‘I am Diego Maradona’, and ‘Sperm Whale’.
Her appearance in ‘No Men Allowed’ brought her a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Fajr International Film Festival in 2011.
