Zionist Regime Steps Up Brutal Suppression of Palestinians
WEST BANK (Dispatches) – Three Palestinians were killed early Thursday by Zionist troops in the northern West Bank.
The regime’s troops have raided the northern West Bank city of Jenin, fatally shooting three Palestinian security personnel.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that Adham Yasser Eleiwi, 23, and Tayseer Ayasa, 32, both members of the Palestinian Military Intelligence Service, were killed by the regime’s army gunfire in Jenin early on Thursday.
The Palestinian Information Center news website also said a third Palestinian, Jamil Mahmoud al-Amouri, succumbed to Israeli gunshot wounds.
He was a member of al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement, the report added.
Some reports said the confrontation erupted after Zionist troops, who were operating out of a civilian vehicle, sought to kidnap several Palestinians outside the headquarters of the Palestinian Military Intelligence Unit in Jenin’s Nazareth Street.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian child died on Thursday a day after being seriously wounded by ordnance left from the recent Israeli military aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, local media reports say.
The Palestinian media identified the nine-year-old child as Obeida al-Dahdouh, who sustained injuries when a “suspicious object” left by recent aggression by the Zionist regime exploded in the Zeytun neighborhood of eastern Gaza on Wednesday night.
Obeida and his brother were playing outside the house when a suspicious metal object he found in a nearby empty yard exploded, the report said.
He was pronounced dead on Thursday after he succumbed to serious injuries sustained during the incident.
His brother is said to be in critical condition and was receiving treatment at an intensive care unit (ICU) of a regional hospital.
A large number of mourners, who attended the funeral ceremony for the slain child, vented their anger by chanting slogans against the Zionist regime.
Tel Aviv launched an 11-day bombing campaign against Gaza on May 10, after Palestinian retaliation against violent raids on worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque and the regime’s plans to force a number of Palestinian families out of their homes at Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East al-Quds.
The deputy secretary general of Hezbollah says Operation al-Quds Sword unified Palestinian resistance groups during the 11-day military confrontation with the Zionist regime.
“We saw some of the results of the resistance in the battle of the al-Quds Sword, which took place in Palestine,” Sheikh Naim Qassem said, referring to the Zionist regime’s war against Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip that took place last month.
Qassem said the Palestinian people saw how their Lebanese brothers defeated the Zionist enemy with limited resources, and were prompted to rise against the occupying regime, Lebanon’s al-Manar reported.
“The once weak Lebanon has become powerful today,” he said. “All this was thanks to the resistance.”
