Iranology Center Opens in Berlin

TEHRAN (IBNA)-- Director of Islamic Studies Center in the University of Münster Muhannad ‎Khorshid‎ met Iran’s Cultural Attaché to Germany and announced the launch of ‎the Iranology course in their center.‎
In the meeting, Palestinian-Austrian sociologist and Islamic ‎theologian Mouhanad Khorchide (PhD) informed Iranian cultural attaché to Berlin Hamid Mohammadi of the activities of the Islamic Studies Center.
He said that the center is the biggest of its own in Germany and has 900 students studying in PhD level and higher.
He added that the center is recruiting University instructors for Shia study course which is scheduled to be opened in 2021.
Mohammadi for his part expressed readiness to establish ties between Iranian universities and the University of Münster. He also referred to the background of relations between Iranian cultural attaché office and the German university saying that the cooperation between them will develop research and scholarly programs in the Islamic studies center of Münster University.
With more than 43,000 students and over 120 fields of study in 15 departments, it is Germany’s fifth largest university and one of the foremost centers of German intellectual life.
The university offers a wide range of subjects across the sciences, social sciences and the humanities. Several courses are also taught in English, including PhD programs as well as postgraduate courses in geoinformatics, geospational technologies or information systems.
