Second Aid Shipment for Rohingya to Leave Thursday

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Iran will send its second cargo of humanitarian aid for Rohingya Muslims on Thursday, head of the Shahid Lashkari Air Base Muhammad Tasviehchi said Wednesday.
The cargo will be sent to Bangladesh for distribution among the displaced who have fled an ongoing campaign of killing, rape and arson by Myanmar troops and the country’s extremist Buddhists against Rohingya Muslims.
The commander said Iran will be sending a cargo of humanitarian aid for the Rohingya every week.
Tasviehchi said 100 tonnes of aid, including blankets, tents, canned food, medicine and other necessary good, is currently awaiting dispatch for the refugees.
Iran sent its first humanitarian relief aid, including food and medicine, for the Rohingya last Friday.
An official said the aid was sent thanks to the coordination of the Iranian embassy in Dhaka after the Myanmar regime refused to allow the shipment.
