Suspicious Moves

KAYHAN: The United States has begun its second phase in the Mosul offensive. It is now pretty much coordinated with ISIL, transferring them to Kirkuk with the goal to launch sporadic attacks on civilian targets. It has also given the green light to Turkey to attack various targets in Nineva province. The ultimate goal is to slow down the ongoing liberation of Mosul from ISIL. The battle will determine the fate of Iraq once the terrorist group is evicted.

Job Creation

VATAN EMROOZ: The government claims it has created 2.4 million jobs . However, as per the latest report by the National Statistics Centre, between 2013-15, only 811,000 new jobs were created across the country, which is much lower than what the government claims. As per the same report, some three million job seekers are yet to find work, while the number of those with jobs stands at around 24 million.

AFTAB: Petrol consumption has gone up by 3.9 percent this year Oil minister says as of next year there will be no petrol imports. For this to happen, the government has not allocated any budget for petrol imports in its fiscal budget plan. The point is, petrol consumption has gone down by 5 million litres per day, which means the country can now produce its own petrol without the need for import.
