TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘Goodbye Olympics’ has won an award at the Sandbar International Film Awards in Ireland.
The first directorial experience of Mojtaba Pourbakhshi won the silver award for best film at the 5th edition of the event.
The film is about a canoeing female athlete who faces many challenges in her journey to the Olympics.
“Maria is a Kayaking champion waiting to leave for a race held in France which is an Olympics Qualifying event. The departure of her team will be cancelled over some emerging problems,” a brief synopsis for the flick reads.
Ramin Rastad, Farajollah Golsefidi, Houman Javadi, Mehri Alaqa, Tahereh Amouzadeh, Asghar Sandousi, Morteza Ghadiri and Maryam Jahani are some of the flick’s cast members.
The Sandbar International Film Awards run a serious and committed set-up, judging each project submitted fairly and on many values. These include technically, performance wise, entertainment, charm and much, much, more.
