Tehran Animatiom Festival Announces Foreign Nominees
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The 12th edition of the Tehran International Animation Festival has unveiled the official lineup for its international section.
More than 180 works from overseas filmmakers are selected to compete at the international section.
A lineup of 36 films by Iranian filmmakers will be screened at the international competition of the festival.
The films have been selected from among more than 1000 submissions by Iranian and foreign filmmakers.
The animations come from South Korea, Chile, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Japan, China, France, Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Brazil, and several other countries.
The sole two feature animations in the international competition section are ‘Lajka’ by Czech director Aurel Klimt and ‘The Nose or Conspiracy of Mavericks’ by Russian director Andrey Khrzhanovskiy.
Moreover, 89 short films by foreign filmmakers, including ‘My Generation’ by French director Ludovic Houplain and ‘Good Intentions’ by Anna Mantzaris, will compete at the international section.
The latest edition of the Tehran event will be held on March 6-10 after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), organizer of the event, announced.
