Yesterday, while making a bonfire of the American and Israeli flags after trampling these symbols of hatred and terrorism under the feet, tens of thousands of Baghdadis in their massive rally on the threshold of the 2nd anniversary of the martyrdom of two of the most prominent icons of the struggle against terrorism, questioned why the interim government has not finalized the complete withdrawal of all US occupation forces from the soil of Iraq.
The huge rally was indicative of the iron resolve of the Iraqi nation to drive out the criminal Yankees from their homeland – the same goal that was pursued by Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and his famous mentor Martyr Qassem Soleimani of Iran.
The Iraqis are angry at the recent comments of the chief CENTCOM terrorist, General Frank McKenzie, to breach the agreement worked out earlier this year between Washington and Baghdad for the US troop withdrawal, by claiming that some 2,500 of American terrorists under his command, along with a thousand of their comrades-in-crimes from European countries would stay past the deadline of 31st December 2021 for non-combat activities.
They have dismissed the notion that the US and other western troops are needed for training the Iraqi army and to play an advisory role, by noting the gross inability and impotency of the Americans as well as their stealth military support of the Daesh terrorists.
The Iraqi masses recall how the US-trained national army folded up and fled in the face of the Daesh onslaught in 2014 until the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), trained and guided by the Late Qassem Soleimani, turned the tide of the war and routed the macabrely murderous takfiris, to the horror of the Americans.
They also point out the recent collapse of the US-trained Afghan army in the face of the poorly armed Taliban militia, as well as the defeats being suffered in Yemen at the hands of the Popular Ansarullah Movement by the American-groomed and lethally-armed Saudis.
Senior PMU official, Faleh al-Fayyad, in his address to the huge Baghdad rally, gave a day’s respite to the Americans to pack up and leave.
He reiterated the demand that the US complete its withdrawal by the end of Saturday (January 1, 2022) saying the assassination of Soleimani and al-Muhandis was “a crime against Iraqi sovereignty” committed by the American terrorists.
As we go to the press, it is not yet clear whether the US occupation troops are packing up their bags, or by following the orders of CENTCOM terrorist-in-chief to stay and prepare for armed confrontation with the PMU, they want to return home as corpses in body bags.
At any rate, no government in Baghdad, whether interim or elected, can ignore the people’s demand and tamper with the unanimously-passed resolution of the Iraqi parliament for the exit of all American occupation forces, following Donald Trump’s dastardly act of terrorism in assassinating General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis at Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
The PMU, as protégés of the Martyrs Soleimani and al-Muhandis, possess the resources and necessary military means, and above all the iron-resolve to force the US occupiers to withdraw from Iraq by handing over all the bases to the Iraqi defence ministry.
Observers are keenly watching the developments in Iraq, as the anniversary of the two Hammers of International Terrorism, approaches, and as stated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Tehran yesterday in a pre-anniversary ceremony for Martyr Soleimani and his vision of peace and stability of West Asia by ridding the whole region of all CENTCOM terrorists and their terrorist surrogates:
“In Iraq, the Americans were forced to feign pullout and declare advisory and non-combat role, but our Iraqi brothers must follow this issue with vigilance”.
