Documentary ‘Asak’ Takes Part at China’s Guangzhou

Iranian documentary ‘Asak’ competed at the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival (GZDOC) in China.
The film directed by Mehdi Zamanpour-Kiasari, represented Iran at the 2021 edition of the Chinese event.
The documentary is about an 80-year-old blind man, who earns his own living from manufacturing handicrafts from stones he picks from the mountains.
‘Asak’ received the best film award at the 20th International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival in Turkey.
Held since 1998, the GIFF is annually held during the final week of July in San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato City, Mexico. It was formerly known as Expresión en Corto International Film Festival.
The 2021 edition of the event is slated for September 17-26, 2021.
