Persian Translation of Chinese Books Read on Instagram

TEHRAN (IBNA) -- In “Book Launch for Persian Translation of Chinese Literature Books” hosted by ‎Iranian writer, Mas’oud Borbor in his Storytelling Live program on Instagram, Persian ‎editions of four Chinese books were unveiled. ‎
The event was also attended by Kambiz Manouchehrian and Ebrahim Amel Mehrabi, the translators of the books ‘Little Castle’, ‘Within the Walls’, ‘Straw House’ and ‘A Valley Haunted by Wild Bees’ in Tehran on December 10, 2021.
The initiative began when like Scheherazade in ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, Iranian writer, Mas’oud Borbor, decided to read stories to the audience on Instagram lives every night and talk to the authors and translators of the stories since the very beginning of COVID-19 lockdown.
In this series of programs, a wide variety of Iranian and foreign stories in different genres were presented to the audience in order not only to share the pleasure of reading stories, but also to encourage the audience to become more familiar with fiction. This program has been held for about 650 nights and is well known among Iranian writers, translators and audiences of fiction.
During the event, Ebrahim said, “Our team has opened a line for literary exchange with Chinese publishers. At this stage, our attention is more focused on introducing Chinese literature to the Iranian literary community and readers. We hope that the works of Iranian writers will be published in China in the near future, as well. We’ve made good progress in this direction, and we will talk about examples of these recently published works tonight.”
