Iran Beat Bahrain at FIBA World Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN – Iran have defeated Bahrain 82-66 in Group D of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
In the match, held in Tehran’s Azadi Hall, five players scored in double-digits for Team Melli, led by Muhammad Jamshidi who scored 21 points.
Bahrain’s Ahmed Salman scored 17 points.
Iran and Bahrain will now travel to Manama, Bahrain for their second game of this first window on November 29.
Kazakhstan also defeated Syria 84-74 in another match.
Iran is still one of the top teams in Asia, as it has been for over a decade, so the target will still be on its backs in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be held in three countries: Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10.
