Int’l Union of Muslim Scholars, PLO Condemn Morocco-Zionist Ties
AL-QUDS (Dispatches) – The president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Ahmad al-Raysuni, has strongly condemned Moroccan-Zionist relations.
In a statement, he asserted: “Morocco is currently at a crossroads. Morocco’s relations with the Zionist enemy are not like what we were told a year ago – just recognition of the usurpation regime in return for the U.S. recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.”
He added: “The issue has become no longer as it was said, but it [Morocco] is currently being completely immersed in the forbidden love with the Zionist enemy and opening all doors for it: comprehensive deals, consecutive visits and destructive Zionist invasions.”
Al-Raysuni confirmed that Morocco possesses strong military and intelligence capabilities, and many countries are offering their services to it. Al-Raysuni, therefore, questioned: “What can the Zionist enemy offer in these fields more than penetration, implication, buying officials and making collaborators?”
On Thursday, media reports revealed the signing of a joint military deal between the Zionist regime and Morocco, without disclosing further details.
Later on, Zionist media noted that the deal relates to arms and “unprecedented joint security and defense cooperation.”
The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) also condemned the deal.
“We wished that the Kingdom of Morocco, which chairs Al-Quds Committee, would not have taken this dangerous step in light of the racist measures practiced by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, its disregard for all peace agreements, its rejection of negotiations and the (so-called) two-state solution and its imposition of a fait accompli policy,” a statement announced.
The statement added: “The continued settlement and forced displacement of occupied Al-Quds, the gradual annexation of Palestinian lands, and the undermining of the Arab and Islamic identity of Al-Quds and its sanctities were reasons why Morocco should not have signed the deal.”
It continued: “This deal constitutes a departure from what was stipulated in the Arab League summits, the Arab consensus and the Arab Peace Initiative.”
The PLO Executive Committee stressed that the deal was: “Harmful to Arab national security and the interests of the Arab nation.”
The statement urged Morocco to cancel the deal, stating that any departure by an Arab country from the Arab Peace Initiative, which stipulates that normalization comes after ending the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian and Arab lands, is unacceptable and a reward for the occupation.
