General Structure of Culture Needs Revolutionary Order
TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the general structure of culture requires a revolutionary order in order to protect the country from the cultural invasion of the enemies.
“Entering the second forty years of the Islamic Revolution, which coincides with the beginning of the new Solar Hijri century, requires a new, pathological and up-to-date look at a set of civilizational infrastructures. At the top of this set is the category of culture,” the Leader said Sunday in a decree in which he appointed members of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution for a new term.
Culture, Ayatollah Khamenei said, directs all the basic and underlying actions of human societies and accelerates or slows them down.
“At present, this approach is mainly aimed at upgrading the look and sense of responsibility of cultural directors and elites and activists in various fields with regard to the category of culture and inducing the profound belief that culture building in any civilizational part of society is the best means of its progress and success and a dispenser of binding and dominating devices,” the Leader said.
“It is also attentive to this vital point that the general structure of culture in all its broad parts requires revolutionary order and content. This is the only means of protecting the country’s public culture from the planned cultural and media invasion of the malicious outsiders.”
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the mission of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, saying its responsibility since its inception has been to improve the state of culture and knowledge in the country, and set policies in these two categories, besides guiding their directors on the values and goals of the revolution, and meeting the intellectual needs of their agencies and acting as the cultural base of the country.
