Iranian Red Crescent Offers Medical Services to Malians

TEHRAN -- Head of Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS)’s health center Khalil Mokhtari said Sunday Iran has provided medical services to the people of Segou in Mali.
The services were provided on the occasion of solidarity month in Mali to 1,230 people, he said, adding general practitioners, otorhinolaryngology (ENT) specialists, internists, neurologists, pediatricians, dermatologists, optometrists, nurses, and midwives were among the medical staff offering the services.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh offered condolences to Sierra Leone over a fuel tanker explosion killed scores of people in the West African country.
In a statement on Sunday, Khatibzadeh expressed deep regret at the deaths of scores of Sierra and condoled with the Sierra Leonean government and people and families of victims.
A fuel tanker exploded following a collision in the capital of Sierra Leone, Freetown, killing at least 99 people and injuring dozens of others.
The explosion took place late on Friday after a vehicle struck the tanker in Wellington, a suburb just to the east of Freetown.
Victims included people who had flocked to collect fuel leaking from the ruptured vehicle.
