Celebrations Galore
Salaam dear young friends, and heartiest greetings to you on a string of auspicious occasions.
Guess, what are these celebrations? The obvious answer is that, these auspicious occasions pertain to the Islamic month of Rabi al-Awwal, on whose eve Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) migrated from Mecca towards Medina.
It is the month on whose 17th, Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) was born in Mecca 53 years before Hijra. It is the month on the 10th of which at the age of 25 years, he started his married life with the One and Only Mother of all True Believers (Omm al-Momineen), Hazrat Khadija al-Kubra, with whom he spent 25 blissful years and never took another spouse as long as the First Lady of Islam was alive.
It is the month on the 12th of which the Prophet ordered building of the first ever mosque – at Quba (near Medina), while waiting for the arrival from Mecca of his dear cousin, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (AS). It was in Quba Mosque, four days later on the 16th of Rabi al-Awwal, the Prophet held the first-ever Friday Prayer in history.
On the 18th of Rabi al-Awwal, soon after his entry into Medina, the Prophet ordered construction of Masjid an-Nabi (Prophet’s Mosque), which became headquarters of the first-ever Islamic state, and where the Seal of Messengers reposes in eternal peace.
Rabi al-Awwal also has many more occasions to celebrate, such as the birthday of the Prophet’s younger granddaughter, Omm Kolthoum on the 18th, and of course, the birthday of his 6th Infallible Heir, Imam Ja’far as-Sadeq (AS), on his own birth anniversary, that is, the 17th of this blessed month.
In addition, the 9th of Rabi al-Awwal is a twice blessed day. Besides being the day Omar ibn Sa’d, the principal killer of the Prophet’s grandson Imam Husain (AS), was brought to justice and metered out the deserving punishment, the day marks the start of the divinely-decreed Imamate of the Prophet’s 12th and Last Infallible Successor, Imam Mahdi (AS), who will reappear in the end times to cleanse Planet Earth of all vestiges of corruption and oppression by establishing the global government of peace, prosperity and justice. Amen
But do you know tomorrow, which is the 14th of Rabi al-Awwal, is also a day to rejoice and thank Almighty God for His great favour in taking away the soul of one of the most avowed enemies of Islam and humanity, and casting it into the bowels of hell for having committed unpardonable crimes?
Yes, you youngsters are smart. It is the day when the accursed Yazid ibn Mu’awiyah, the perpetrator of history’s most heartrending tragedy, i.e. the massacre of the Prophet’s Household in Karbala, was struck by divine wrath while on a hunting trip outside Damascus and only his charred leg was found, stuck to the stirrup of the horse he was riding, with no sign of his body.
In addition to Karbala, during his 3-year misrule, this criminal committed two more blasphemous crimes – the sack of Medina and desecration of the Prophet’s Mosque and Shrine including the mass raping of Muslim women, and then the attack on Mecca and raining down of flaming projectiles on the Holy Ka’ba.
May God damn all modern day Yazidis, such as the Takfiri terrorists and their godfathers, the Saudis, the US and the Zionists!
This is the prayer on the lips of every true Muslim, whether Shi’a or Sunni, rejoicing at the liberation of Aleppo, while celebrating Islamic Unity Week that spans the two days of Rabi al-Awwal (12 and 17), believed to be the birthday of the Prophet of Peace.
