TEHRAN – Iranian free-style wrestlers on Sunday set up exciting matches against their opponents in the semifinal bouts and qualified for the final matches in the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway.
In 57 kg category, Iran’s Alireza Sarlak dismantled his Turkish opponent Süleyman Atlı 7-4 to advance to the final.
Sarlak had defeated Ecuadorian, Belarussain wrestlers to reach the semifinal.
In the final, Sarlak to meet Thomas Gilamn.
In 65 kg category, Amir Muhammd Yazdani, met with Kyrgyzstan’s wrestler Alibek Osmanov and beat the Kyrgyz wrestler 5-4 and qualified for the final to meet with Russia Wrestler Zagir Shakhiev .
And in 79kg category, Iran’s Muhammd Nokhodi beat Georgian wrestler Nika Kentchadze 6-5 and advanced to the final match. He will take on U.S wrestler Jordan Burroughs in the final.
In 92 kg category, Kamran Qasempour fought with the U.S. wrestler J’ Den Cox and defeated him to through the final and is to meet the Russian Magomed Kurbanov in the final.
