Iran Remembers National Hero Raees Ali Delvari
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iran marks the national day against British colonialism annually on Shahrivar 12 (which fell on September 3 this year), commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Raees Ali Delvari, Iran’s national hero of anti-colonialism.
Accordingly, a commemoration ceremony was held for Ali Delvari in his historical house in Delvar Village, Bushehr Province, attended by writers, experts, and descendants of the Iranian fighter.
To implement health protocols and to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the ceremony was broadcast online on the Bushehr IRIB TV channel.
Born in 1882, Raees Ali Delvari was an Iranian independence fighter and anti-British colonialism activist who fought against the British troops which had invaded Iran in 1915.
He, a symbol of anti-colonialism, was martyred in 1915 at the age of 33 in a fierce attack from behind by British aggressors in Bushehr.
The anniversary of his martyrdom has been called the National Day of Combat against British Colonialism.
