Iranian Athletes Ranked 13th in Paralympics

TEHRAN– The Iranian athletes
finished their work at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics with 24 medals and in 12th place on the table of medals.
The national Iranian sitting volleyball team defeated the team of Russia in the final of the 2020 Paralympics on Saturday, the 11th day of the competitions.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised the “honorable” Iranian athletes for shining in the Paralympic Games of Tokyo.
In a letter on Saturday, the Leader appreciated the Iranian caravan in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The text of the message is as follows:
“In the Name of the Most High
I sincerely thank the honorable Paralympics caravan, which has brought joy to the Iranian nation once again with the medals that they have won.
Seyed Ali Khamenei

In a separate message, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi also praised the athletes, saying their performance manifested realization of the “we can” slogan.
The triumphs, he added, showed that the “stalwart youths of this homeland overcome whatever obstacle and shortcoming under the auspices of their diligence and strong will,” Press TV reported.
The Iranian squad in the Paralympic Games, including 62 athletes, was ranked 13th after winning 12 golds, 11 silvers, and one bronze.
