Iran Ease Past Nigeria at 2021 FIVB U-19 World Championship

TEHRAN – Iran have
defeated Nigeria in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship.
Iran had lost to Poland in their first match in Pool A.
Team Melli is scheduled to meet Czech Republic on Monday.
Out of 20, only 18 teams are competing in the 17th edition after the Dominican Republic joined Guatemala as a few of their players turned COVID-19 positive.
Italy is the reigning champion. It won the title in Tunis two years ago while host Iran (2017 champ), Brazil (2003 champ) and Russia are the contenders.
The tournament consists of two pools of four and two pools of five, with the top two from each advancing to the knockout stage.
