Iran Runner-Up at Greco-Roman Junior World Championships
TEHRAN – Iran Greco-Roman wrestling team has finished in second place at Junior World Championships.
Iran won one gold, one silver and five bronze medals in the competition and became runner-up with 130 points.
Russia won five gold medals, one silver and one bronze and won the title with 183 points.
The Republic of Azerbaijan came third with 101 points.
Amir Reza Dehbozorgi defeated Alimardon Abdellaev from Uzbekistan 3-1 in a slow-paced 55kg final.
Saeid Esmaeili was defeated against Russian Dinislam Bammatov 7-3 in 60kg final bout and won a silver medal.
In the 63kg bronze medal match, Iman Mohammadi defeated Manuel Stoica from Romania 9-0.
Muhammad Hussein Azarmdokht beat Egyptian Emad Abouelatta 8-4 in the 77kg third-place match.
Muhammad Aziz Naghousi emerged victorious over Ukraine’s Mykyta Alieksieiev 11-5 in the 82kg and won the bronze medal.
Morteza Alghosi defeated Marcus Worren from Norway 5-3 in the 97kg bronze medal match.
Amir Muhammad Bayati defeated Nikolaos Ntounia from Greece 6-3 to win a bronze medal in the 130kg.
The competition was held in Ufa, Russia.
