Iran Freestyle Team Claims Title of Junior World Championships

TEHRAN – For the first time since 2015, Iran won the junior world team title and in style.
With five gold medals, one silver and one bronze, Iran accumulated 178 points to win the top position in freestyle wrestling at the Junior World Championships in Ufa, Russia.
Iranian wrestlers claimed three gold medals and one silver in the final day of the competition.
Rahman Amouzad Khalili defeated Indian Ravinder 9-3 in the final match of the 61kg.
Amirhossein Firouzpour beat Rakhim Magamadov from France 10-0 in the 86kg final bout.
And Ali Akbarpour defeated Lyova Gevorgyan from Armenia in the 125kg final.
Mahdi Hajiloueian lost to Rocky Elam from USA 4-2 in 92kg final bout.
On Tuesday, Erfan Elahi defeated Dzhabrail Gadzhiev from Azerbaijan 7-5 and won a gold medal in the 70kg.
Mohammad Nokhodi beat Azerbaijan’s Ashraf Ashirov 7-5 in the 79kg and seized a gold.
Alireza Abdollahi also seized a bronze after beating Macedonian Radu Lefter 5-4 in the 97kg.
