Doping Test Result Could Cost Britain Olympic Medals

LONDON (Dispatches) - British Olympic athlete and silver medallist Chijindu Ujah has been provisionally suspended for an alleged doping violation at the Tokyo Olympics, the Athletics Integrity Unit, or AIU, said.
Ujah, 27, was part of Team GB men’s 4x100m relay team, which won silver at this month’s delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The news means the quartet could all face being stripped of their medals, with Canada moving to silver medal and China receiving bronze, if Ujah is found guilty.
“The result was reported by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency)-accredited laboratory of Tokyo on 8 August 2021,” the AIU, under the International Association of Athletics Federations, said in a statement.
The athlete has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample, it said.
