Jury Picks Applauded ‘Crab’ at Italian Event
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian animation ‘Crab’ has won the jury award at the 17th edition of the Lago Film Festival in Italy.
Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the 11-minute animation narrates the story of a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.
Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.
But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.
The animation has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival, and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.
The website of the Lago event reads, “Lago Film Fest aims to be a place of encounter, dialogue & contamination between the artist’s community and the local community through the medium of cinema”.
A total of 25 films from 20 countries competed at this edition of the Italian festival on July 23-31, 2021.
