ISTANBUL (Xinhua) – At least three people were killed and one was injured on Tuesday after a shooting in the center of Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city, Ihlas news agency reported.
An armed group opened fire on people in the Beyoglu district on the European side of the city, and the suspects fled after the shooting, Ihlas said.
In another development, Turkish police have detained 709 illegal immigrants in Istanbul, state-run Anadolu news agency reported Tuesday.
