Hezbollah: U.S. Causes All Sufferings in Lebanon

BEIRUT (Dispatches) – The head of the Executive Council of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah says all the sufferings in Lebanon today have been directly or indirectly caused by the United States.
“Today, the one who has destroyed Lebanon is the United States, which continues to interfere in all of the affairs of this country,” Hashim Safi al-Din said, Lebanon’s al-Ahed news website reported on Friday.
Safi al-Din pointed to the U.S. sanctions on Lebanon, saying the U.S. has targeted the needs of all the people of the region with sanctions.
The remarks came after Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Saad al-Hariri said he had abandoned his efforts to form a new government, citing disagreements with the country’s president, Michel Aoun, on the formation of a new cabinet.
Hariri was designated to form the new government in October, after the resignation of Prime Minister Hassan Diab in the aftermath of the deadly August 4 Beirut port explosion.
Meanwhile, the Internal Security Forces Directorate in Lebanon announced on Friday the detention of a man in West Beqaa, east of Beirut, over spying for the Zionist regime’s spy agency, Quds Press reported.
In a statement, the Internal Security Forces Directorate disclosed: “As part of our hunt against spying networks that deal with the Israeli enemy, we confirmed the identity of a person who contacted this enemy.”
According to the statement, the person in question was detained on 30 June, 2021, in West Beqaa and is born in 1990.
He confessed that he contacted occupying regime’s spy agency in 2019, requesting to work for them. An unidentified person replied to his email and tasked him with collecting information and carrying out several missions in return for payment.
In addition, the spy received training from the Zionist regime agent, who asked him to collect more information, which he did.
The spy also confessed that he attempted to contact the regime’s army as he had already sent an email to the army’s website asking to work for them.
According to the statement, Lebanese security services verified the information given by the spy and confirmed that it was factual.
Meanwhile, a military drone belonging to the Zionist regime has crashed inside Lebanon’s territory in what was claimed to be as a result of a technical malfunction.
Avichay Adraee, the spokesman for the Zionist troops, reported the development in a tweet on Friday and said the crash took place “during routine activities” and on Lebanese soil.
“During routine activities, an IDF drone fell in Lebanese territory due to a technical malfunction,” Adraee claimed in the tweet. “There is no fear of information leakage.”
The Lebanese media also confirmed the report of the drone crash.
Lebanon’s resistance movement of Hezbollah has previously warned that the Zionist regime’s aircraft that enter Lebanese airspace would be shot down.
The occupying regime and Lebanon are technically at war due to the former’s occupation of Lebanese territory, including Shebaa Farms that the regime overran in a subsequent war in 1967.
