‘The Middle’ On Way to Italy’s River Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘The Middle’ is competing at the 15th River International Film Festival (RIFF) in Italy.
Directed by Soheil Soheili and competing at the Orizzonti Internazionali section of the Italian event, the 15-minute film tells the story of some people that are eating their lunch at a table.
It’s as if there is a battlefield around them: monarchy, chaos, threat, deception, absolute consumerism, and getting lost between different cultures and living in a region with a shadow of war are some of the main themes.
The RIFF hosts a wide range of works from around the world and provides an opportunity for filmmakers, screenwriters, and many experts to exchange experiences.
The 2021 edition of the festival, started on July 1 and currently underway in the Italian city of Padova, will run until July 25.
The other Iranian representatives at this edition of the RIFF are ‘Pass’ by Elika Abdollahi, ‘The Rotation’ by Hazhir Asadi, ‘The Recess’ by Navid Nikkhah-Azad, ‘Dream Haulers’ by Farzaneh Qaemi, ‘The White Whale’ by Amir Mehran, ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ by Ziba Arzhang, and ‘Today is Friday’ by Mohammad Ahangar.
