Minister: All Iranian Citizens Connected to Internet
TEHRAN - The Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology Muhammad Javad Azari Jahromi says almost all Iranians across the nation are linked to the Internet network.
“More than 98.5% of villagers as well as 100% of city dwellers in Iran have an Internet connection,” said Azari Jahromi.
According to the Communication Regulatory Authority of Iran, 52,000 villages with over 3 million users have access to all forms of communications now.
Accordingly, 44,000 villages and 82,000 km of roads are now covered by Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI), and 18,000 villages and 64,000 km of roads in Iran are covered by Irancell.
Jahromi said on Feb 2, 2021, that Iran is working to be among the top 5 countries in the world’s space field in the next few years.
