Consul: Russia, Iran Visa Waiver Big Step in Expanding Tourism

ISFAHAN – Russia’s Consul General in Isfahan Boris Burmistrov has said that waiving group visas between Iran and Russia was a big step in expanding tourism and facilitating travel between the two countries.
Iran and Russia Joint Plan of Action this year for waiving visa requirements for tourism groups of 5-50 people led to better deployment of tourism and cultural capacity of the two countries, Burmistrov said.
Highlighting Russia’s support of the Joint Plan of Action, the Consul General added that Tehran and Moscow have made several agreements in recent years on expanding tourism to speed up traveling between Iran and Russia and now travel agencies must take action to play their role.
Referring to programs of teaching Russian and Persian languages, the diplomat pointed to the establishment of the Russkiy Mir Foundation in Esfahan in which Iranians can learn the Russian language and literature.
He also highlighted sports ties between Iran and Russia, saying that a group of Zenith football teams in Russia made agreements with Isfahan’s Sepahan football team.
