Volleyballers Overpower Bulgaria in VNL 2021

TEHRAN – Iran have defeated Bulgaria 3-0 (25-20, 33-31, 25-22) in the 2021 Volleyball Nations League Week 2.
Bardia Saadat grabbed 17 points for Iran, and Bulgaria’s Parapunov Radoslav earned 11 points.
On Friday, Iran national volleyball team gained a four-set win against Italy, the host country, in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League.
Alekno’s men registered its third consecutive win in the competitions with a 3-1 victory (26-24, 29-27, 21-25, 25-22).
Iran produced a solid performance on the back of some great blocking that produced 10 points (five from Mojarad Aliasghar alone) and high scoring by Saber Kazemi on 24 points.
The competition format is a single round robin pool with each of the 16 teams facing every other ahead of semifinals between the top four of the standings.
The semifinal winners will clash for the title, with the losers playing out for the bronze medal.
The tournament is being held in Rimini, Italy within a secure ‘bubble’ with all hygiene protocols in place to ensure the health and well-being of all athletes, officials and staff throughout the competition.
A total of 32 of the world’s top national teams compete at the VNL 2021 bubble in Rimini, Italy to showcase electrifying volleyball action for millions of fans worldwide.
Iran have lost to Japan and Russia and defeated the Netherlands, Canada, Italy and Bulgaria so far.
