Iran’s ‘Leo’ Named Best at U.S. 60 Second Event
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian flick ‘Leo’ has been awarded at the 2021 edition of the 60 Second Short Film Fest in the U.S.
‘Leo’ was named the Best Live Action-Narrative Film in the Adult category of the second edition of the U.S. event, the Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday.
Moeen Rouholamini, the director of the film cited the festival as saying that ‘Leo’ is “a special film” where “Brilliant choices were made to delicately re-construct this world and moment”.
The film is about a child who finds joy as a sport commentator at a refugee camp.
The second annual 60 Second Short Film Fest was hosted by “the City of Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Cultural Arts Division and the Enrichmond Foundation”, according to an online film submission platform.
Some 851 works were submitted to the 2021 edition of the festival, but only 38 “outstanding films” made their way to the 60 Second filmfest.
